Huairou district belongs to several rings of Beijing.

Outside the Sixth Ring Road. Huairou District of Beijing belongs to the area outside the Sixth Ring Road of Beijing. Huairou District is a municipal district of Beijing, located at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain and northeast of Beijing. It is connected to Miyun District in the east, Shunyi District and Changping District in the south, Yanqing District in the west, Chicheng County, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County and Luanping County in Hebei Province in the north. The urban area is 50 kilometers away from Dongzhimen, Beijing, with a total area of 2 122.8 square kilometers. Huairou District comes from "Huairou Hundred Gods" in The Book of Songs Zhou Song Shi Mai, which means to attract appeasement. Huairou County was established during the reign of Emperor Taizong Zhenguan. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Huairou was a strategic place of Yan State, belonging to Yuyang County, and its capital was located in Li Yuanzhuang Village, the northern town of Huairou District. In the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1368), Huairou County was established in the Ming Dynasty, which is basically the same as the jurisdiction of Huairou District today.
