Xiamen Library was established in 19 19, located in Xiamen Culture and Art Center, No.95 Tiyu Road, Siming District, Xiamen. In 2007, the building area of the main building of Xiamen Culture and Art Center was 25,732 square meters (excluding * * *), and two floors above the ground were equipped with open reading spaces integrating collection, borrowing, reading, inspection and inquiry.

It has 2.348 million books, 920,000 kinds of e-books, 56.23TB electronic resource library, and features local documents in southern Fujian. It is the center for document collection and utilization, information consultation service and inter-library cooperation and business research and development in Xiamen.

Gulangyu is a small island in the southwest of Xiamen, with an area of 1.77 square kilometers, separated from the urban area by a 700-meter-wide strait.
