On July 23rd, Dayaowan Customs under Dalian Customs seized 2 1.5 tons of prohibited solid waste. When customs officers of Dayaowan Customs carried out on-site inspection on a ticket of imported goods declared as "calcined nickel oxide", they found that the package was a blue-green powdery solid, which was suspected to be industrial waste residue, and immediately took samples for inspection.

Through the analysis of the properties of the solid waste, it is determined that the actual goods are "waste aluminum-based catalysts containing nickel or nickel slag after extracting vanadium and molybdenum", which belongs to the solid waste whose import is prohibited in China.
