Why doesn't Tongliao-Fuxin high-speed railway stop?
Tongliao is a prefecture-level city in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Just by looking at the name of this city, we can know that this city must be very close to Liaoning. Fuxin is a prefecture-level city in the northwest of Liaoning Province. Geographically, these two cities are located in the northeast, but there is no direct high-speed rail connection between them.
The high-speed railway line in Tongliao is Xintong High-speed Railway, which leads from Xinmin North Station of Jingha High-speed Railway to Tongliao, with a total mileage of 197 km and a design speed of 250 km/h. This railway is the first high-speed railway out of Inner Mongolia and the first high-speed railway in Beijing. The high-speed rail line passing through Fuxin is Jingha high-speed rail.
Therefore, although there is no straight-line high-speed rail from Tongliao to Fuxin, both Xintong high-speed rail and Jingha high-speed rail can be reached, but it is strange that there is no direct high-speed rail between the two places, and the only high-speed rail from Tongliao to Beijing does not stop at Fuxin. The G3662 from Tongliao to Chaoyang, Beijing all pass through Fuxin Station of Jingha high-speed rail without stopping.
As for why the high-speed train from Tongliao to Chaoyang in Beijing doesn't stop at Fuxin, I think it may be because there is too little passenger flow between Tongliao and Fuxin. Moreover, both Xintong High-speed Railway and Jingha High-speed Railway currently have the problem of fewer trains, especially Xintong High-speed Railway, which has only a few pairs of trains every day, most of which are bound for Shenyang, and the utilization rate is extremely low. I'm afraid this is caused by the route direction of Xintong high-speed railway. The terminal station to Tongliao will become a broken high-speed railway, and the passenger flow in Tongliao is definitely limited, so it can't support more trains.
It turned out that there was a direct general-speed train from Tongliao to Fuxin, but now it is out of service. That is to say, Tongliao can't get to Fuxin by train, and you can only transfer at other stations. But when you check the number of trains, you will find that it is very difficult to even transfer, and it is difficult to find a suitable transfer plan for both ordinary railway and high-speed railway. You can only take the high-speed train to Xinmin North Station first, and then take the passenger bus from Xinmin to Fuxin.
