Employment direction of materials science and engineering

At present, from the perspective of finding a job, the direction of good employment for materials science and engineering majors is metals and polymers. These two majors, the direction of good employment is mainly material processing, and the material synthesis is much worse. Such as aerospace, ships, weapons and equipment, electronics, steel and so on. There is a demand for metal materials. The demand for polymers lies in structural parts on the one hand and coating adhesives on the other.

It is convenient for the rest of inorganic, wood and wood to publish articles, but it is difficult to get out of the field of scientific research. Although foreign companies talk a lot, R&D really doesn't attract much.

In the specific direction, except for silicon, there is no industrial demand for various thin-film dye-sensitized solar cells, there is a certain demand for electronic packaging materials, the demand for chemical power materials is relatively large (fuel cells do not accept it), and piezoelectric materials are applied but there is little demand for research and development. In short, functional materials are actually hard to find a job.
