What's the difference between an interaction designer and a UI designer?

For a small company, these two positions actually have similar job contents, both of which are user interface design. However, if it is a larger company or R&D team, these two positions still have their own sub-areas.

Interaction designers mainly study the relationship between user needs and interface, and design and plan the product functions and interface interaction modules according to this relationship. For example, to build a website, interaction designers mainly consider who the target audience of this website is, what needs they meet, and what operating habits the target users have. According to the analysis of the relevant demand research data, the interaction designer will establish one or several user models, and then analyze the usage habits of these users, and establish the design prototype of the website. This prototype can be an ordinary photo frame draft or a high-fidelity model, but it does not need the details of design elements and specific visual effects. Generally speaking, the work of interaction designers ends here.

UI designers, as the name implies, will pay more attention to the design of user interface. Generally, UI designers don't need to participate in the user model and requirements analysis. After the interaction designers have finished all these tasks, UI designers will design and optimize the details of the page, so the work of UI designers will be more visual.

However, there are still many intersections between these two jobs. If those who do interaction have experience in UI design, the product prototype will be more standardized and beautiful. If those who do UI design have experience in interaction design, they will pay more attention to user needs and user experience in specific design. Therefore, some companies recruit interaction designers to be responsible for UI work, while others recruit UI, but they should have interactive working background ~ ~
