Development background of Wanzhou Xucobbler Leather Co., Ltd.

Since the early years of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty, Wanzhou leather shoes have gone through the development process of 150 years. In the early years of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (185 1), there was a leather workshop in Wanzhou (Wanxian), which smoked and tanned cattle and sheep skins with straw. In the early years of Guangxu (1875), the leather (leather shoes) industry in Wanzhou developed to a certain extent, and foreign businessmen and customers from Han and Chongqing came to Wanzhou to deal in leather goods. During the Republic of China, after Nanjing Master went to Wanzhou to teach the new leather reform law in Western Europe, Wanzhou people opened the first leather factory in Jiaochangba. Later, leather enterprises such as Tiancheng Tannery, Chongqing Zhonghua Tannery Wanxian Branch, Islamic Tannery, Huafeng Tannery, Volkswagen Tannery, Feng Jiao Tannery, Kirin Tannery, Daozhenyu Workshop and No.37 Arsenal Global Forest Farm were born one after another.

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, dozens of leather shoes enterprises in Wuhan, Shashi, Yichang, Nanjing and Shanghai moved to Wanzhou (Wanxian), which greatly promoted the development of Wanzhou leather shoes industry. By the 28th year of the Republic of China, there were 160 shoe enterprises in Wanzhou.

After the founding of New China, Wanxian Leather Industry Preparatory Committee was established, and 100 factories joined forces to form tanneries of Handicraft Association and tanneries of East Sichuan, Jianguo, Glory, Heping, Jianhua and Hongqi. Among them, Wanzhou leather products (leather shoes and suitcases), represented by the state-owned Chuandong Tannery, the backbone enterprise, enjoy a high reputation in the whole country because of its high quality and low price and exquisite craftsmanship. Leather shoes were once exported to the former Soviet Union, Vietnam and other countries and became one of the main traditional famous products in Wanzhou.

After the reform and opening up, state-owned shoe enterprises such as East Sichuan, Wanxian and Yinhu have been restructured or disintegrated. Driven by some old workers, Xiong Jia, Jiaochangba, Zhu Min Road and other places have successively opened private leather shoes factories. In the mid-1990s, the development of Wanzhou leather industry reached its peak. There are 4 15 state-owned, collective, street and individual shoe factories in the whole region, including well-known enterprises such as Li Qun, Hongxing, Zhong Yi and Jiefang, and provincial and ministerial-level famous brands such as Wang Chuan, Chuandong and Zhong Yi, with an annual output of nearly100000 pairs. Later, due to the failure to grasp the development opportunities in time, Wanzhou leather shoes industry once declined, and manufacturers closed down one after another, and some left their homes. According to incomplete statistics, nearly 100 people in Xiongjia Town set up leather shoes factories in Chengdu, Hunan and Guangxi. At the end of 1990s, thanks to the efforts of the former Tiancheng Management Committee and Xiongjia Town Government, Wanzhou leather shoes industry made certain progress. At present, there are 33 shoe processing enterprises/kloc-0 in Wanzhou, including 72 enterprises in industrial and commercial registration, with the registered trademark 15. Mainly distributed in Xiong Jia, Bell and Drum Tower, Zhoujiaba and other places, with an annual output of about 6 million pairs of leather shoes and an output value of 300 million yuan. There are more than 9,000 employees, including more than 5,500 workers in the leather shoes industry and more than 3,500 marketers.
