Employment problems of contemporary college students

First, the current situation of college students' employment

(a) The number of graduates is increasing.

(c) Expectations of graduates remain high.
With the popularization of elite education and the continuous improvement of college students' comprehensive quality, college graduates have always had high expectations for employment. According to the survey, about 15% of college students' ideal starting salary is above 4,000 yuan, and less than 3% choose 1500 yuan. And most enterprises choose 1500-2500 yuan. Some college students' employment expectations are still high, and too high expectations inevitably make them lose a lot of employment opportunities.
Second, the reasons for the employment difficulties of college students
(A) from the graduates themselves.
At present, in the process of finding a job, college students still take the idea of one step at a time seriously. They think that going to state-owned enterprises, institutions, government agencies, public schools and large companies is employment, while going to small and medium-sized enterprises and private enterprises is only a part-time job. Therefore, many college students would rather stay at home than work in some small and medium-sized enterprises after graduation, let alone work in remote areas. Moreover, in the process of job hunting, some college students expect to find a relaxed and high-paying job, unwilling to engage in high-paying jobs and want to get high income; I want to get a well-paid job, but I don't know enough about my abilities. However, there is often a big gap between social reality and graduates' ideas, which further affects graduates' employment.

First of all, since the first batch of college students entered the society in 2003, the demand for talents in our society has gradually changed from a seller's market to a buyer's market, and a large number of graduates have entered the job market. With the global financial crisis, the economies of various regions began to decline, and society could not provide so many jobs. As a result, the employment pressure of college students has suddenly increased, and the phenomenon of difficult employment has become prominent.
Secondly, the talents needed in today's society are all-round comprehensive talents, but most of the talents trained in colleges and universities in China lack comprehensive ability and professional skills, so it is difficult to skillfully apply the professional knowledge they have learned to practical work and find a job that suits them in society.
In addition, the employment guidance for college students has been widely concerned and valued, and many colleges and universities have actively explored in theory and practice, and achieved certain results. However, due to the late start of employment guidance in China, some colleges and universities are still in the rough stage of conveying policies, sorting out information and organizing "double-election meetings", which is far from meeting the needs of the changes in employment situation and the reform of employment system.
From the perspective of social employers.
With the economic development and structural adjustment, enterprises have entered a relatively stable development stage, and the employment of enterprises is also in a mature and stable period, and the talents absorbed are limited. The emerging industries that the country is developing vigorously are mainly knowledge-intensive and need highly specialized talents, and most graduates are mainly applied talents. In the current economic crisis, a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises, which mainly accept graduates, go bankrupt, while the surviving enterprises continue to lay off employees in order to reduce costs, resulting in employment difficulties.
Third, some suggestions on the employment difficulties of college students
(A practical understanding of employment needs, and constantly improve the comprehensive ability of graduates.
How to make better use of less than four years to improve yourself directly affects the employment situation of senior students. Therefore, college students should use all possible channels to pay attention to understanding what kind of college graduates employers need. In view of the needs of employers, college students should make full use of four years of college to learn relevant knowledge and obtain relevant certificates, so as to gain an advantage in employment recruitment and get a good job.
(2) Investigate the employment situation and provide reasonable employment guidance.
Due to the current information asymmetry between college students and employers, relevant government departments and university employment offices should continue to investigate the current employment situation and the employment needs of employers, and provide targeted employment guidance for the majority of graduates. Make college graduates improve their knowledge reserves in time, adjust their employment mentality, obtain employment information, and accelerate and improve their employment.
(3) Recruit alumni resources and solve the employment problem of graduates through multiple channels.
More successful alumni have some resources to help their younger brothers and sisters provide some jobs. It is suggested that the social resources of professional teachers and alumni should be fully mobilized and utilized to strive for more recruitment opportunities for graduates. According to the characteristics of the major, using the resources of alumni and teachers, we will hold targeted small-scale special job fairs for related majors, so that graduates can apply what they have learned and create greater social value.
(4) Increase employment support and innovate employment recruitment forms.
With the development of the Internet, information transmission is getting faster and faster, and the mode of holding job fairs jointly by the talent market and universities has gradually failed to meet the requirements of graduates' employment. Therefore, we must innovate on this basis, make use of the closer relationship between employers and college graduates, and expand the employment field through a series of measures such as situation seminars, special job fairs, expert reports, teacher-student symposiums, and psychological counseling.
