Guangdong Yudean Zhongshan Thermal Power Plant began preparations for construction in June 2007. The project company, Guangdong Yudean Zhongshan Thermal Power Plant Co., Ltd., was registered and established on August 8, 2008. It was formed by Guangdong Yudean Group Co., Ltd., Zhongshan Xingzhong Group Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Congxing Electronics Development Co., Ltd. invested in the company in proportions of 60, 20 and 20 respectively.

The first phase of the Zhongshan Combined Heat and Power Project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2011. After the project is put into operation, it can provide reliable and high-quality steam to heating enterprises in Zhongshan Gaoping Industrial Zone and the core town of Sanjiao Town, realizing triple generation of heat, power and cooling. The implementation of centralized heating for surrounding heat-consuming enterprises will replace the original more than 100 scattered boilers and a large number of small boilers that may be added in the future.
