Share your 12-year failed career
There are many successful experiences in the workplace, and I have read a lot of them. But even though I have heard the truth, I still can't get a good job.
After 12 years in the workplace, I have worked hard and diligently, but I have been searching, ups and downs, but I still have nothing to show for it. Moreover, looking objectively into the distance, I found that my career seemed to be over.
Let me share my 12-year failed career.
Flashback or start from the beginning? Anyway, you are talking to yourself, so let’s trust the horse and the reins first.
I am a typical liberal arts student. I only realized this when I was holding a 58-point paper for "Advanced Mathematics" after I went to college. Just like "engineering" is as deep as the sea, I studied by myself every night from then on. There are people in the class who learn easily, but unfortunately I am not. During my three years in college, I worked harder than I did in my senior year of high school. I struggled with the profound science and engineering subjects with my head hanging on the beam and my buttocks spinning.
By the way, my major in college is "Industrial Design", which is to design the appearance and structure of products. It's a pretty good major, but it's a pity that I don't have enough IQ.
I finally made it to my senior year, and my goal in finding a job was to stay as far away from machinery as possible.
When I started looking for a job, it was in 2003, and I was located in Shanghai. The "Industrial Design" major was actually quite good, because at that time small advertising companies were popping up all over the place. We professionally learned PS and AI software for graphic design, as well as 3D-Max for three-dimensional design, and we also had a basic understanding of Flash animation. Therefore, with a few pieces of student work, you can quickly find an internship.
My first internship job was in a small company undertaking the installation of fitness equipment. Even the boss worked for 5 people. The company is located in a private house in Liangwan City, COSCO. The boss is very nice. I remember it was the Mid-Autumn Festival a few days after I arrived, and the boss gave me a red envelope worth 200 yuan. You must know that the internship salary I negotiated is only 900 yuan per month. I have been designing in this company for two or three months, and my boss approves of me because I am the only one in the company who can design software. But I always hope to learn more during internships. So I jumped ship.
The second internship job was at an architectural animation design company. The boss is a top student from Tongji who is a few years older than me. I admire them very much. I was still looking for a job at the time, but they already had their own company and bought real estate in Shanghai.
Thinking about it, I had a pretty good chance. It was 2003. The company's business targets are all real estate companies. I remember that my boss and I went to Gemdale Group to propose a proposal. At that time, Gemdale was developing a project in Pudong called "Future Domain" and another project called "Future Future". At that time, if I could take a job and buy an apartment while studying three-dimensional animation design, I would be prosperous. It's a pity that as a person who can't even find a good job in the workplace, I can't have any dreams of getting rich.
I have a hard time doing this job. I often model until midnight and need help from my boyfriend (now husband) to complete the work. This once again proves that I am not a science and engineering material. It also strengthened my belief in finding a “job related to writing”.
During the graduation season, I was a little disappointed. After being a good student for more than ten years, he was quite frustrated during the graduation season. The more successful students have entered large companies in the industry by virtue of awards in professional competitions, such as "General Motors", "Hitachi", "B&Q" and some other good large companies. As mediocre as I am, I only got a copywriting position in a small company and my future is slim.
To sum up, the most important luck when entering the workplace is to encounter a platform.
Because many recent graduates don’t know exactly what they should do and what they can do. At this time, if you can join a large company, you can advance step by step along the mature career training system. Even if you move in the same position in the future, your professional experience in a large company can add a lot of luster to your resume.
I only suddenly realized this when I was cooperating with the company’s campus recruitment after working for 10 years.
