Where is Nanyue

Nanyue is Hengshan Mountain, located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. The five mountains in China are Songshan Mountain in Zhongyue, Taishan Mountain in Dongyue, Huashan Mountain in Xiyue, Hengshan Mountain in Nanyue and Hengshan Mountain in Beiyue. Mount Hengshan in Nanyue is 1300.2 meters above sea level, with Zhurong Peak as the main peak. The famous scenic spots include Nanyue Temple, the Buddhist Temple and Fangguang Temple, which attract countless tourists every year.

Hengshan Mountain, also known as Nanyue, Shouyue and Nanshan, is one of the "Five Mountains" in China. It is located in the southeast of central Hunan Province, China, and spans between Hengyang and Xiangtan Basin. The main part is located in Nanyue District of Hengyang City, Hengshan County and the east of Hengyang County.

The main peaks of Mount Hengshan are Yan Hui Peak, Zhurong Peak, Zigai Peak and Yuelu Mountain, and Zhurong Peak is the highest peak. The main body of Hengshan Mountain starts from Futian Pu Township in Hengshan County in the north, reaches Zhangmu Township in Hengyang County in the south, starts from jiepai town in Hengyang County in the west, and reaches Nanyue District in Hengyang City in the east, with a total length of 38 kilometers, the widest point 17 kilometers and a total area of 640 square kilometers.

1982, Hengshan Scenic Area was included in the first batch of national key scenic spots; In February 2006, Hengshan was selected into the first batch of national natural and cultural heritage list; In May, 2007, Hengshan Scenic Area was awarded the first batch of national 5A-level tourist attractions. In August 2007, Hengshan Mountain was listed as a national nature reserve.
