Sanya College was founded in 2005 and funded by Geely Group, a fortune 500 company. Sanya University's master's degree awarding unit and related degree authorization points passed the verification, becoming the first private university master's degree awarding unit in Hainan and rare in China. Among them, three majors, tourism management, social work and electronic information, were authorized by master's degree.
