Yes In 2008, the regional planning of Jinan West Railway Station was formally introduced, in which the rail transit line planning officially appeared. At the beginning of 2009, the Jinan Municipal People's Government decided to set up a leading group for the planning and construction of Jinan urban rail transit. On June 20th, Jinan Municipal People's Government and Beijing Urban Construction Design and Research Institute signed a technical consultation contract for rail transit planning, and Jinan rail transit officially started. By 2024, there will be seven lines under construction in Jinan Rail Transit, namely, Phase II of Jinan Rail Transit Line 3, Phase I of Jinan Rail Transit Line 4, Phase I of Jinan Rail Transit Line 6, Phase I of Jinan Rail Transit Line 7, Phase I of Jinan metro line 8, Phase I of Jinan Rail Transit Line 9 and Tram 1 Line, with a total length of 203 kilometers.
