The school was founded on 1927. Due to the change of administrative area management, before liberation, the schools were named Lu Mei Municipal Middle School and Mao Mei County Middle School. After liberation, it was named Wuchuan No.1 Middle School and Huazhou No.2 Middle School.

1966, the school moved to its present address. 1978 school has been designated as a county-level key middle school by the provincial education department. 1994, Wuchuan withdrew from the county to set up a city, and the school continued to use its current name.
