Reflections after visiting Huawei Company (1)

On April 2, 2019, on a sunny morning, nearly 30 of us came to Huawei Company for inspection and study , thoughts after visiting Huawei. Huawei's global sales revenue in 20** was RMB 149.1 billion (USD 21.8 billion), a year-on-year increase of 19%; net profit reached RMB 18.3 billion (USD 2.7 billion), with a net profit margin of 12.2%. In just over two decades of continuous rapid development, Huawei has grown from an unknown small company to one of the top three global telecommunications equipment suppliers, becoming a model for the global development of Chinese enterprises.

On the way to Huawei, I have been thinking about why Huawei can maintain sustained and rapid development? Why was the profit in the mid-to-late 1990s at the same level as the "Great China" (in 1998, Huawei, the company with the largest sales revenue (the smallest one is Datang, which is 900 million yuan, and the profits of the four companies are all over 100 million yuan). The gap has been getting wider and wider for more than ten years. What is the key to Huawei's success? Under the leadership of the reception staff, we successively I visited the exhibition hall, warehouse, data center, training center and other places of Huawei's Bantian base. When high-tech design and products, cash warehousing management, intelligent information network center, and modern training venues appeared in front of me at close range, , a Huawei that is "innovative, focused, and creates value for customers" gradually became clear.

First of all, Huawei's management's sense of crisis of "born in sorrow, dying in happiness" enables Huawei people to correctly understand achievements, constantly pursue innovation, and constantly surpass themselves. It is precisely because of the sense of crisis that prevents Huawei people from being intoxicated by the impressive performance and numerous honors, nor from stagnation or complacency due to the current good situation of corporate development. Secondly, Huawei's vision is world-oriented and future-oriented, looking at tomorrow and the world, grasping future development trends, focusing on its own specialty - telecommunications equipment manufacturing, and not being swayed by external diversification trends. It has continued to invest heavily in R&D over the years. , constantly pursuing advanced technology and adhering to the path of specialization are another guarantee for Huawei to stand out. Furthermore, the concept of creating more value for customers has enabled Huawei to embark on a win-win path of sustainable development. Keeping close to the market, responding quickly, being customer-oriented, providing products and solutions that exceed customer needs, reducing costs for customers, allowing customers to choose themselves, and continuously expanding market share, Huawei wins its own success by promoting customer success. Finally, the people-oriented concept enables Huawei to recruit and retain a large number of outstanding talents and give full play to their role.

After visiting Huawei, I feel proud that Shenzhen and even China have such a company. Compared with Huawei, our company is still far behind. I think the most valuable thing for us to learn from Huawei is to be prepared for danger in times of peace, to have the spirit of continuous innovation and pursuit of excellence, to have a national and global vision and standards, to look forward, to keep up with the market, and to " We work with the concepts of "focus, innovation and creating value for customers". It is necessary to mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of all employees through mechanism innovation and management innovation; strengthen employee training to improve employees' work standards and efficiency; in the real estate business, through product innovation, provide customers with products with beautiful design, practicality, and high quality , and continuously increase market share and visibility while maintaining appropriate profits; in terms of engineering construction business, on the premise of ensuring quality and safety, we actively adopt new technologies and new processes, organize construction scientifically and rationally, and actively propose rationalization while controlling construction costs. Suggestions help builders control project investment, save investment for owners, create value, and achieve win-win development. Remarks after visiting Huawei (2)

In order to further strengthen the team of school network administrators, on the morning of June 16, the Network Management Center of the Ministry of Information Technology organized 34 school network administrators to visit Shenzhen Huawei 3com Technology Co., Ltd. Company, Huawei's beautiful environment, standardized management, advanced production lines, scientific training mechanism and a series of high-tech products made the visiting teachers eye-opening and amazed, and they all said that they learned a lot of knowledge.

Arriving at the conference room on the first floor, Mr. Han was already waiting there with a smile on his face. Mr. Han was a handsome young man from the north. After all, he was a senior at work. When they met for the first time, everyone shook hands and exchanged greetings. Seated. There are a few eye-catching words in the ppt: "Warmly welcome the students of the 10th Yangtze River Class in Beijing to come for guidance!" People can't help but feel warm and experience the "Reflections after Visiting Huawei Company". Next, Mr. Han introduced Huawei’s overall operations. I was so absorbed in listening that I didn’t take any notes. We are becoming more and more awe-struck, and several statistics are astonishing to us: Huawei's annual sales are more than 20 billion US dollars, and more than 60% are overseas sales! What an amazing achievement! This shows that Huawei is truly a multinational Chinese enterprise.

Mr. Han also said that the company requires a localization rate, which is the key to cross-cultural management and a weapon for Huawei's success. Not only that, Huawei's process management is excellent. The entire process from discovering customer needs to product development to marketing is very scientific. This is another key element of Huawei's success.

Talking about Huawei’s incentives, Mr. Han proudly said: “We are basically a big pot with a collective bonus system. Everyone works together and everyone in the team is embarrassed. If not, everyone in the team will be embarrassed.” Yes. Yes, the pressure on Huawei employees is not imposed by the company, but this incentive mechanism requires every employee to work hard, otherwise he will feel sorry for his team members. Diligence and dedication are the driving force behind Huawei's continuous advancement. "Huawei will not pay attention to projects with a physical capacity of less than one billion." Mr. Han said, this sentence reflects Huawei's research and development plans and purposes. Finally, it was time for everyone to ask questions. There were many questions from the students, which were very lively.

Next we drove to the Huawei Information Center. The entire information center looks like the hall of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with semicircular desks where employees work. We looked down from the visiting window on the second floor and everything was very orderly. No one looked at the visitors. The commentator said: Huawei has implemented remote after-sales service. As long as any foreign Huawei product is connected to the terminal, the information center will be connected immediately and the problem will be checked. Staff can repair the Huawei product in Shenzhen.

Due to time constraints, we can only visit Huawei's Bantian Industrial Park in a casual way. It covers an area of ??1.3 kilometers and more than 2,000 acres. Consists of 4 parts. The garden design includes European and Japanese styles, and the fusion of Eastern and Western architecture is very beautiful. The gardens and water system in the park are particularly beautiful. I really can't imagine that this is a company. Seeing the company in the garden also reflects the concept of humanism.

On the way back by car, a classmate said: "I am really proud to have such a company in China." Yes, Huawei is the pride of China! Thoughts after visiting Huawei (3)

I have known Huawei before. First, when Huawei entered the Russian market in 1997, I happened to be working in Russia. At that time, I was in a state-owned enterprise and was not clear about the future of private enterprises, so I did not choose to go private. Second, in 2015, I went to Europe with a delegation led by Vice Minister Chen Jian of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. Along with me was the CEO of ZTE, and I also got to know Huawei by the way. Third, when I was in Chongqing in 2015, I had dinner with the boss of China Unicom and the head of Huawei’s Chongqing office and talked about Huawei’s development. Fourth, I read a book about Huawei written by a retired general manager of Huawei in 2015, and learned from their experience in “going out” to develop overseas markets. I was previously responsible for the international market at Zongshen Group for more than eight years, and was also responsible for the planning and implementation of the "going global" development strategy.

A few days ago, I contacted one of my old subordinates, Zhu Jiang. I recruited him when I was at Zongshen Group and sent him to work in the Nigeria office. He is a very good young man. Yesterday was Sunday. Zhu Jiang invited me to hang out. He said that he had been with Huawei for two months and was planning to go to West Africa to work in customer service. I have been in Shenzhen for more than half a year, and I wanted to visit this company, so I happily went.

Zhu Jiang and I had lunch at a cafeteria in Vanke City, and then drove to the Huawei Group next door. First, we drove around and saw that the entire Huawei area is very large, with its scope covering both sides of the street. It is divided into ABCDEF areas, including the administrative center, R&D center, training center, production center, reception area, living area, etc. Then Zhu Jiang went through the visiting procedures for me and went in to visit several places. My favorite is the training center. Huawei is famous for its emphasis on training. Compared with the companies I have visited in the past, Huawei does have its own unique features.

What impressed me most was the design of the building, which is beautiful and practical, not ostentatious, but very modern. Second, the environment is beautiful, both the green area and the interior decoration are so perfect. The third is the park management. It is said that the park management is outsourced, well-organized, and the atmosphere is lively and full of vitality.

After the visit, we came to the living area. The activity center has various facilities. Employees can play sports in the basketball court, tennis court, table tennis room, billiards room, and badminton hall, or read in the reading room (reading in the reading room is free). There is also a swimming pool where employees can swim in the summer. They greeted each other with great sunshine and enthusiasm.

I have been talking to Zhu Jiang and want to know everything about Huawei. From employee training to market expansion and customer service, from distribution mechanism to employee benefits, from structure management to corporate culture. Since it was Sunday, I couldn’t see or understand many places.

Judging from yesterday’s visit, Huawei is the best among private companies. When I used to work at Zongshen Group, I was often proud of Zongshen's excellent hardware facilities and hoped that these first-class hardware facilities would one day take advantage of them. Seeing all aspects of Huawei's corporate culture construction, it is not difficult to understand that Huawei's export sales last year were more than 30 billion US dollars, and this figure, which we have been working hard for for 9 years in Zongshen Group, is only 1% of its scale.

Huawei is the largest private enterprise in China. The reason why it can become big must be unique.

Last year I visited Sanli Company in Qingdao and my impression was very good. This year I visited Huawei. It only took a few hours and I learned a lot. China's development and China's future lie in these outstanding enterprises. ;
