China Construction Sixth Bureau is a central enterprise, and its parent company, China Construction Corporation, is a central enterprise under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. The predecessor of China Construction Sixth Bureau was the logistics department of the 20th Corps of China People's Liberation Army and the Second Division of Construction Engineering of China People's Liberation Army.

For more than half a century, China Construction Sixth Bureau has fought for overseas competition, and successively participated in the construction of Changchun No.1 Automobile Factory, Qiqihar No.1 Heavy Machinery Factory, Daqing Refinery, Deyang Heavy Machinery Factory, Shiyan No.2 Automobile Factory, Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, Yantai World Trade Exhibition Center, Dongying Yellow River Estuary Physical Model Experimental Hall, Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, Changchun Longjiabao Airport, Tianjin Luanhe River Water Diversion Project, Tianjin Junliangcheng Power Plant and Tianjin Dagang Power Plant.

It has also undertaken a large number of overseas engineering projects in Egypt, Iraq, Western Samoa, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong and other 15 countries and regions.
