Dagang Oilfield has a wide range of exploration, including land, beach and extremely shallow sea. It includes the land in the south-central part of Huanghua Depression, the beach area (water depth is 0-5m), the eastern half of Cangxian Uplift and the northern half of Chengning Uplift. There are many types of reservoirs in the exploration area, and there are many sets of oil-bearing combinations in the source rock series. It is a large-scale composite oil-bearing area with rich oil and gas generation and accumulation, and has broad oil and gas exploration fields and development prospects. There is a tidal flat area of 2700 square kilometers within the scope of exploration and development. Among them, the artificial island on the Zhangju River built by the oilfield was named "the first artificial island in China" by China Oil and Gas Corporation.
