What is the nature of Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences?

Shanghai Institute of Environmental Science was established in 1979, and is affiliated to Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau. After more than 20 years of construction, our institute has developed into a comprehensive professional institution integrating environmental science, environmental planning, environmental ecology, environmental assessment, environmental pollution control technology, engineering design and project implementation. In July, 2000, with the approval of the State Bureau of Technical Supervision, the environmental testing laboratory obtained the laboratory accreditation certificate of China, and its accreditation capacity and scope reached 175, including 396 accredited testing items, involving 58 environmental quality standards and pollutant discharge standards. The laboratory has conducted environmental background quality surveys for multinational companies such as DuPont in the United States, Rona Planck in France, Rhodia and SNPE, and won unanimous praise. It has undertaken and completed environmental impact assessments of hundreds of major projects and 16 regional development environmental impact assessments. During the period of 1997, the publicity, training and certification of ISO 14000 system were carried out for the first time in China. 1998, the first batch of Shanghai environmental protection certification companies passed the national certification. The company has provided environmental certification and professional technical services to more than 100 customers in Shanghai and surrounding areas, including many well-known multinational companies and well-known domestic groups, enterprises and institutions. It has a strong applied research foundation and engineering design strength in environmental pollution control technology, and has undertaken the design and construction of nearly 100 environmental protection projects, involving chemical, fine chemical, printing and dyeing, food, pharmaceutical and other industries. Shanghai Environmental Protection Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center has passed the metrological certification, and there are 34 kinds of products in five categories. There are 75 testing items in 1 1 categories that have passed the metrological certification, among which the testing qualification of cooking fume purification equipment in catering industry is one of only seven units in China. At present, there are hundreds of customers all over the country.
