Introduction to Neijiang First People’s Hospital

The First People's Hospital of Neijiang City came from the Neijiang Highway Health Station of the Department of Health of the Ministry of the Interior before liberation, after changing its name ten times. In 1937, the bloody "July 7th Incident" broke out in the Anti-Japanese War, and Tiancheng Neijiang was bombed twice by Japanese planes. Based on the reality that "since the Anti-Japanese War, refugees have migrated along the highways, the labor force has increased tremendously, infectious diseases have emerged, and many people have died", the Nationalist Government has set up health stations on major highways to provide on-site first aid, diagnosis and treatment, vaccination and other work. The Neijiang Highway Health Station was established on Tuojiang Road outside the South Gate of Neijiang on March 28, 1939. There were only 23 people in the station. Physician Yu Wei also served as the director, taking on the responsibility of resisting the war and saving the people. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, it was handed over to the local government and renamed Neijiang County Health Center. After 74 years of construction, it has developed into a three-level hospital with the largest scale, the most complete disciplines, the strongest technical force, the most advanced equipment, and the best diagnostic and treatment conditions in Neijiang City, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, first aid, rehabilitation, and preventive health care.
