What should be done for an interaction designer’s resume and portfolio?
Both the resume and portfolio are versions from three months ago. There are currently one or two outstanding projects in progress, so they have not been added. This resume and portfolio are mainly used for internship recruitment this spring for positions related to interaction designers and product design. I have also dealt with social recruitment from some companies. Overall, the resume evaluation is OK. As for the portfolio, I have shown it to many seniors before, with mixed reviews. Many people felt that the display was confusing and the focus was not focused enough. They felt that they had done a lot of things without showing the focus, which easily gave people a feeling of impetuousness. Later, because I was busy with school projects, I didn’t remake it. In general, for resumes, I recommend showing the results directly (if you have any), and try not to add any information that is not related to job hunting (but excluding some of your own habits and hobbies related to life taste and aesthetics). If you have the conditions, you can prepare yourself as a social recruiter; for a portfolio, the focus is to highlight the highlights, focus on describing the process, and show what you did, why, how you did it, and what kind of results you got. Generally speaking, it mainly depends on the portfolio. If the portfolio cannot present your own strength well, its usefulness will be limited. From an employer's perspective, the purpose of viewing the portfolio is to better understand the designer's ability level. I see that many interaction designers submit portfolios that are just a collection of design outputs (mostly direct wireframes or documents exported from Axure). Portfolio: This is more important. On the cover, I chose to simplify my personal statement, describing myself in one sentence for each item such as experience, design ability, user research ability, characteristics, etc. The portfolio is divided into several parts based on what you are good at. As an interaction designer, your most important work is to prepare for the interaction design project. Providing design ideas is more important than interface design drawings. Motion design, user research, and visual design are supplements to it. After the overall work is completed, practice it yourself. Similar to an interview, talk about each project to yourself in relatively concise words.
