Tan-Shao Expressway starts from Zhu Yi intersection, the terminal of Lianyi Expressway in Xiangtan City, connects with Yinjiaao Interchange of Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, passes through Xiangtan, Loudi and Shaoyang, ends in Zhouwangpu Town, Longhui County, Shaoyang City, and connects with National Highway 320. The total length of the main line is 2 17.968km, and the standard of four-lane expressway is adopted to fully control access. The designed driving speeds are 120km/h and 100km/h respectively, including K0+000-K43+500 and k 189+000-k265430. In addition, the four connecting lines of Xiangtan, Loudi, Shaoyangdong and Shaoyangnan are constructed according to the technical standards of first-class highways, and the connecting lines of other counties (cities, districts) are constructed according to the technical standards of second-class highways, with a total length of 35.627 kilometers. The total investment of the project is 6.099 billion yuan.

Tan-Shao Expressway started construction on July 1 2000 and was completed and opened to traffic on February 26, 2002 [1]. With the completion and opening of Tan-Shao Expressway, the focus of work has shifted to operation management. Tanshao Management Office is located in Minle Village, Xiangshui Township, Xiangtan County. There are 7 departments including office, political engineering department, finance department, road safety department (including 4 road squadrons, 3 rescue teams and 1 overload detection station), levy inspection department (including inspection brigade), engineering maintenance department (including 3 maintenance stations), monitoring sub-center and 13 toll station.
