Part of Jinshazhou belongs to Baiyun District of Guangzhou and part to Nanhai District of Foshan.

Jinshazhou is located in the west of Guangzhou, adjacent to Liwan District and Yuexiu District, with an area of 26.8 square kilometers. Jinshazhou is the junction of Guangzhou and Foshan, part of which belongs to Baiyun District of Guangzhou and part to Nanhai District of Foshan. It is the core area of Guangzhou-Foshan city.

The whole of Dao Jiang is called Xunfeng Island, and its name comes from Xunfeng Mountain within its jurisdiction.
