Three police districts of modern British police

Modern British police are divided into three police districts, namely Scotland Yard and England and Wales Garrison, Scotland Garrison and Northern Ireland Garrison.

Scotland Yard is the largest police station in Britain, directly under the leadership of the Home Office, and is responsible for the police work in London. The police in England and Wales are led by the Home Office and local governments, while the police in Scotland and Northern Ireland are led by local governments.

In the division of police jurisdiction, Britain adopts a triangular decentralized management system, that is, the mode in which the Ministry of the Interior, local police stations and local police chiefs manage specific affairs respectively.
