How many natural gas wells are there in Zigong, Sichuan?

As of July 31, 2023, there are 5 natural gas wells in the area.

In Zigong, the five gas fields discovered so far include Ziliujing, Xinglongchang, Dengjingguan, Yangjiashan and Washi gas fields. Among them, the Artesian anticline has large sediment thickness and abundant natural gas reserves. It was one of the first gas fields in the world to undergo large-scale industrial exploitation.

In the Sichuan Basin, natural gas is mainly stored in carbonate rocks below the Middle Triassic, followed by the sandstones of the Xujiahe Formation in the Upper Triassic, among which anticlinal structural traps are absolutely dominant.
