Geographical environment of Luxiang

On March 28th, 2005, with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the historic town of Luxiang was abolished and merged into Luxiang Town. The original Luxiang Town was formed in the Song Dynasty, formerly known as Huangxi. Later, due to the residence of Lu, a famous figure in Yuan Dynasty, it was renamed as Lu Xiang, which is one of the new ancient towns in Jinshan. Gan township is also called Ganxi. According to legend, during the Spring and Autumn Period, Master Smelter lived here, so the main lane is also called Master Lane, also called Master Square.

The town covers a total area of 59.74 square kilometers, including 3647.4 hectares of cultivated land. The town has "Dangtian, Qiao Liu, Taiping, Xinbang Yao Jia, Liu Jia, Macun, Rose, Wan Mao, Zhang Jing, Yue Long, Guanghui, Sanxin, Heping, Poplar, Yan Jia and Han Wei *** 17 villagers' committees; Lvxiang and Ganxiang two neighborhood committees. By the end of 2005, there were 13225 households with a total population of 42953.

Zhang Jinghe: It goes through the east of the town. It starts from Maogang in the north and ends at the south gate of Jinwei in the south, with a total length of 27 kilometers, including 6.7 kilometers in Luxiang, which flows through Baiyang, Zhangjing, Yan Jia and Yue Long villages, with a navigation capacity of100t.

Purple Rock Trail: From Zhangjing to Zhang Ze Town, Songjiang District, it flows through Song Yin, Lin Ting, Zhangyan and Luxiang in Jinshan District, with a total length of16.7km, of which, 2.2km in Luxiang, passing through Yanjia Village, is navigable for ships of100t.

Central Canal: It runs through the northeast of China, from Zhangjing to Longquan Port. It flows through Luxiang and Zhu Xing, Song Yin, Caojing and other places. Total length 12.39 km, of which 2.92 km is in Luxiang. It flows through three villages: Han Xu, Yan Jia and Zhangjing. Navigation capacity is 30 tons.

Shantang: From Liulitang to Zhangjing. It flows through Luxiang and towns such as Xia Lang, jinshanwei and Zhangyan. The total length is17.25km, of which the territory of Luxiang Town is about 5km. A navigable 20-ton ship.

Xinzhangjing: It starts from the boundary river between jinshanwei town and Zhejiang in the south, and connects with Zhangjing River of baiyang village Group II in the north. Total length 1 1.78 km, and the total length of the town is 7.3km.. It flows through Yue Long, Zhangjing, Poplar and Xia Lang Town Guangming. A navigable 40-ton ship.

Divine realm: from the high realm to the new realm. It flows through the east and west of the town. The total length is 8.96 kilometers, and the navigation capacity is 15-20 tons.

Xuputang: It's in the northwest of China. It starts from Maokou in the west and digs the stone port in the east, with a total length of 8.73 kilometers, and can be used for navigation 100-ton ships. It is the main waterway from Shanghai to Pinghu and Haiyan in Zhejiang via Jinshan.

Liulitang: In the western part of the territory, it starts from Xuputang in the north and ends at Shantang River in Xia Lang in the south, with a total length of 9. 1 km. It flows through the territory of Luxiang for 2.6 kilometers and is navigable for ships of 100 tons.

Huigaojing: The central and western parts of China, which is connected to Digong Port in the north and Shantang River in the south. It flows through Zhujing, Luxiang and Xia Lang, with a total length of 10.86 km. Can sail a 60-ton boat. It is the main waterway for inland river transportation between Luxiang area and Zhujing, Zhejiang area and Shanghai urban area.

3. There are five bus lines for bus passenger transportation, including Zhu Wei (A6) line, Zhu Shi line, Jinshi line, Fengqi line and Jinzhangwei branch line, and there are 10 stations nationwide. Roads crisscross the whole territory, with convenient transportation.

Lvxiang Town, with flat terrain, is located in the southeast corner of dish-shaped depression in Taihu Lake Basin, with flat terrain, fertile land and rivers. There are 500 mu of low-lying land with an altitude of less than 3 meters in the western region, which is located in the site of Guchangmao. Other cultivated land is 3.5-3.8 meters above sea level. It is slightly higher in the southeast and lower in the northwest. In Northeast China, the general ground elevation of villages such as Baiyang, Heping and Yan Jia is 3.4-3.6m, rising gradually from north to south, while that of villages such as Guanghui and Yue Long is 3.7-4.6m..

The climate is pleasant. The local area belongs to the north subtropical monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, abundant rain and sunshine, and a long frost-free period. Climatic conditions are suitable for crop growth. Luxiang Town has a superior geographical position, complete infrastructure such as roads, water supply, power supply, communication and sewage treatment, and a beautiful ecological environment.

Luxiang Town was merged from Luxiang Town and Ganxiang Town on March 28th, 2005. The merged Luxiang Town is both old and young, and it is a typical rural market town in the south of the Yangtze River.
