Although there are many types of laser printers, their working principles and materials are basically the same, but some specifications are different. Therefore, the general maintenance of laser printers is basically applicable to all kinds of laser printers, but some special ones are different.
1, maintenance of electrode wire
Due to the residual toner, dust and scraps of paper in the printer, the electrode wires for charging, transferring, separating and eliminating electricity will be polluted, which will reduce the voltage and affect the normal working performance. Generally speaking, if the charged electrode wire pollutes waste powder, paper ash, etc. The color of some printed inks will be insufficient or even very light. This is mainly because the toner drum is not fully charged after the electrode wire is polluted, so the latent image generated on the toner drum is not enough to absorb toner, and the voltage is not enough due to the pollution of the transfer electrode wire. When the paper passes by, the contact between the paper and the toner drum is not close enough, and the toner transferred to the paper will be insufficient. In addition, when the transfer electrode wire (slot) is seriously polluted, the back of the output pattern will be dirty, because the pattern will pass through the transfer electrode slot when it is output. However, the pollution of electrostatic discharge electrode will make the paper unable to separate smoothly, resulting in paper jam and other failures. The pollution of electrostatic discharge electrode will make the residual toner on the selenium drum not be cleaned, which will make the bottom ash of the output paper sample serious. When maintaining the electrode wire, you should carefully remove the electrode wire assembly (some printers don't need to take out the electrode wire, they can be cleaned directly on the machine), first brush off the foreign matter attached to it with a brush, and then gently and carefully wipe it with absorbent cotton.
2. Maintenance of laser scanning system
When the laser and all kinds of working mirrors in the laser scanning system are polluted by dust, the bottom ash of the printed part will increase and the image will not be clear. You can wipe them clean with absorbent cotton, but be careful not to change their original position or damage them.
3. Maintenance of Fixer Components
Fixer maintenance mainly includes fuser heating roller (including rubber roller), separating claw, thermistor and thermistor switch.
(1) Maintenance of Fixing Heating Roller
After long-term use, a layer of toner may stick to the fixing heating roller. Generally speaking, the surface of the heating roller should be very clean, which will affect the printing effect. Black blocks and stripes appear in the printed samples, and the toner of pictures and texts sticks to other places, indicating that the surface of the hot roller has been damaged or damaged. If it is mild, it can be used after cleaning (but not suitable for conveying sulfuric acid paper). If it is serious, just replace the heating roller. The rubber roller matched with the heating roller will stick with waste powder after long-term use. Generally, it will not affect the output effect when it is slight, and it will make the back of the output sample dirty when it is serious. When cleaning the heating roller and rubber roller, please wipe it carefully with absorbent cotton dipped in anhydrous alcohol. But don't wipe the heating roller too hard, and don't scrape it with anything like a blade to avoid damaging the fixing heating roller. Wiping the rubber roller can be simpler, just wipe its surface clean.
(2) Maintenance of separation claw
The release claw is a small claw that clings to the heating roller, and its sharp claw usually rubs slightly with the heating roller for a long time, while its back rubs against the output pattern for a long time. Over time, the outer film layer will be worn off, so that the waste powder will stick to the heating roller, which will damage the heating roller on the one hand, and on the other hand, the adhesive powder on the back will become not smooth enough after bonding, which will hinder the transportation of the paper and make the paper bend and wrinkle when it is output, which will affect the quality. Therefore, if you find that the output paper is wrinkled, you should pay attention to cleaning the separation claw. The method is to carefully remove the separation claw, carefully wipe off the waste powder caked on it, and carefully grind the back smooth. Generally do not sharpen sharp claws. Be careful if you want to grind it. After wiping, it can be carefully reinstalled (when installing, each separation claw can be used interchangeably to make the surrounding wear similar).
(3) Maintenance of Thermistor and Thermistor Switch
Thermistor and thermistor switch are parts close to the heating roller. The early laser printer was installed near the center of the heating roller, and later it was improved to be installed at both ends of the heating roller. These two components usually don't need much maintenance, but in a printer that has been used for a long time (with a large output), waste powder and some dirt will stick to the thermistor shell (outer packaging shell), which will affect its temperature sensitivity and change its temperature sensitivity to the heating roller. Therefore, the increase of the surface temperature of the heating roller will first affect the service life of the heating roller, accelerate the aging of the rubber roller and the wear of parts such as the separation claw, increase the preheating time, and thus reduce the service life of the fixing lamp tube. Secondly, if the temperature is too high, the paper will curl, which will affect the output and cause paper jam. Sometimes even sulfuric acid paper and coated paper will blister and be unusable. When the situation is serious, it may even burn out the heating roller.
The maintenance method is to carefully remove the fuser, thermistor and thermistor switch, and wipe the dirt on its shell with cotton dipped in alcohol. Be careful not to damage its shell when operating. Then put it back carefully, and be sure to pay attention to the distance between the thermistor and the hot roller when installing, so as not to damage the parts due to excessive temperature. Generally speaking, in order to make the thermistor contact as close as possible to the heating roller, the thermistor switches can be properly spaced at a certain distance.
4. Maintenance of photoelectric sensor
The photoelectric sensor is polluted, which will lead to the failure of printer detection. If the manual paper feed sensor is polluted, the printer control system cannot detect whether there is paper or not, and the manual paper feed function will be invalid. Therefore, the surface of the relevant sensor should be wiped clean with absorbent cotton to keep it clean and always have sensing sensitivity.
5. Maintenance of selenium drum
If the output is large, you can stop for a while after working for a while and then continue to export. It is also a way for some users to work alternately with two compact boxes. As for the maintenance of the selenium drum, it can generally be carried out in the following ways:
(1) Carefully take out the toner cartridge assembly and wipe the surface with absorbent cotton, but don't use force to avoid scratching the surface of the toner cartridge.
(2) Wipe the surface of the toner cartridge with absorbent cotton dipped in a special cleaner for the toner cartridge. When wiping, the method of spiral ring should be adopted, and the cleaner should be wiped clean with absorbent cotton immediately after polishing.
(3) Gently pat a layer of talcum powder on the drum surface with gauze filled with talcum powder, and then put it back in place for later use.
(4) Pay attention to cleaning up the waste powder in the waste powder collection bin when replacing the toner, so as not to affect the output effect. Due to the excessive accumulation of waste powder, the phenomenon of "powder leakage" will first appear, that is, irregular black spots and black blocks (usually vertical) will appear on the output sample. If it is not ruled out to continue to use, serious bottom ash (and vertical scratches) will appear at the "powder leakage" after a period of time. The reason for this failure is that the waste powder is too full at first, so that the regenerated waste powder cannot enter the waste powder bin, and the waste powder in the waste powder bin will be continuously "squeezed out" to produce the phenomenon of "powder leakage". Then, because the waste powder contains dirt such as paper ash and fiber, it is rough, and the toner cartridge is rubbed for a long time, which becomes tighter and tighter, and the pressure is getting bigger and bigger. Finally, the photosensitive film on the surface of the toner cartridge is worn off. Therefore, the bottom ash of the output mode is serious. Because of the longitudinal friction, longitudinal scratches can be seen on the bottom ash. Therefore, once the phenomenon of "powder leakage" is found, the waste powder bin should be cleaned immediately.
Finally, pay attention to avoid light when cleaning the selenium drum.
6. Maintenance of sensor slats and transmitter lock plates
Gently dip a soft cloth in water, and wipe off the silver-white strips and scraps of paper accumulated on the lock plate of the transmitter to ensure smooth transmission.
7. Maintenance of paper guide plate
The paper feed guide is located under the toner cartridge, and its function is to convey the paper to the fixing assembly through the toner cartridge. When cleaning, wipe the surface of the paper feed guide plate with a soft cloth slightly dipped in water to ensure that the printed matter is clear and clean.
8. Maintenance of other transmission parts
Other transmission parts, such as paper pick-up wheel, transmission gear, output transmission wheel and other transmission and paper feeding channels. These parts don't need special maintenance, as long as they are kept clean. For the paper rubbing wheel, if it is found that the paper rubbing effect is not good (that is, the paper can not be rubbed), you can check whether there is too much paper powder or sand powder, and try not to use this kind of poor quality paper. In addition, cotton can be dipped in alcohol to wipe the paper roller, which can solve the above problems. If the rubbing paper is seriously aging, you can use fine sandpaper to polish the rubbing wheel horizontally, or you can solve it for a period of time. Of course, the aging paper roller will eventually be replaced. The maintenance of other transmission rubber rollers is generally the same as that of paper rollers.
