The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University is directly under Anhui Medical University. Anhui Medical University is a key university in Anhui Province jointly established by the Ministry of Education, National Health Commission and Anhui Province. The hospital was formerly a private Southeast Hospital affiliated to Southeast Medical University, founded in Shanghai, 1926. At the end of 1949, in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to go to the countryside and the mainland, it moved to Huaiyuan, Anhui with the school. 195 1 was changed from private to public, and 1952 moved to Hefei, the provincial capital, with the school, and was renamed as the Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical College.
