Dazhou Heshi Airport is located in Heshi Town, Dachuan District, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, 12KM away from the main urban area of ??Dazhou City (Tongchuan District). The airport was first built in the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940). At that time, the Nationalist Government acquired 612 acres of land to build a wartime outdoor simple airport named "Heshiba Airport". It is built as a turf track, 1100 meters long and 30 meters wide. The airport has no ground facilities and will only take off and land one C-47 transport aircraft after its completion.

In October 1959, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government invested 800,000 yuan for the first expansion. The expanded runway was made of mud-bound gravel, 1,200 meters long and 30 meters wide. There is a cement pavement apron of 244 square meters, which can park four Y-5 and one Li-2 aircraft.

It was opened to navigation on May 19, 1960. On December 24, 1982, flights were suspended due to the elimination of Li-2 and Y-5 aircraft.

On October 15, 1992, the second expansion of Heshi Airport was carried out. Daxian District invested 64.75 million yuan and civil aviation invested 1 million yuan. It resumed service on December 25, 1994. The expanded runway is 1,800 meters long and 30 meters wide.

Services resumed on December 25, 1994. Due to factors such as the serious impact of the Datacheng Railway and the elimination of Y7 aircraft, flights were suspended again on March 24, 2000.

On November 26, 2000, the third expansion was implemented and flights resumed on January 6, 2006.

The flight area level is 4C, the runway is 2000m long, 45m wide, and has 3 parking spaces; it is equipped with a Class I precision approach lighting system and a Class I precision approach instrument landing system (ILS, Runway 02), an automatic meteorological observation system, and a comprehensive Beacon/ranging station and ground-to-air communications (VHF). It has the capability to provide aviation support for Boeing 737-700, Airbus A319 and below aircraft types, and is open on demand. The airport terminal area is 2,300 square meters. It is divided into check-in area, security work area, isolation waiting area, cargo area, baggage sorting and loading area, passenger entry and baggage claim area, etc.; there are 2 boarding gates, 3 check-in counters, and 2 travel inspection channels. 2 lanes for line inspection (one of which is a double lane) and 1 lane for cargo inspection.

The airport has a fire brigade, and the fire rescue level is Level 6.

Aircraft maintenance is provided by Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport Aviation Ground Service Co., Ltd.

The supply of aviation fuel is guaranteed by the China National Aviation Oil Dazhou Supply Station, which has a dedicated storage area with a construction area of ??3,000 square meters. In October 2009, Dazhouhe Airport successfully passed the airport safety audit and security audit organized by the Civil Aviation Administration, and its safety foundation and support capabilities were comprehensively improved.
