Vipshop was founded in Guangzhou in December 2008 by Shen Ya and Hong Xiaobo. It is an e-commerce website featuring special brand sales. We sell brand-name products at prices as low as 10% off, including fashion, accessories, shoes, beauty cosmetics, bags, home textiles, leather goods, perfumes, 3C, maternal and infant products, etc. 100 brand authorized special sales every day, ensuring authenticity and low prices. Vipshop took the lead in creating a business model of “name brand discounts + limited time sales + genuine product insurance” in China. Coupled with its "zero inventory" logistics management and seamless integration with e-commerce, Vipshop was able to take root in the e-commerce field in a short period of time. As of July 2013, Vipshop had more than 5,800 employees. The company received a total of US$70 million in joint venture capital from Sequoia and DCM in November 2010 and May 2011. On March 23, 2012, Vipshop successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: VIPS), becoming the first e-commerce company in South China to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Vipshop has branches and subsidiaries in Shanghai, Beijing, Jianyang, Chengdu, Tianjin, Ezhou and other places. Warehouse construction is the focus of Vipshop's development. Vipshop has established four large-scale warehousing centers in Beijing, Foshan, Kunshan, and Jianyang. The logistics center has introduced the world's top Manhattan WMS system. In 2013, Vipshop established "Vipshop (Jianyang) E-Commerce Co., Ltd." in Jianyang City, Sichuan Province. The construction of "Vipshop Southwest Logistics Center" started in June 2012. The project covers an area of ??300 acres, with a total investment of 600 million yuan and a total construction area of ??150,000 square meters. The first phase of the project has been completed, with a construction area of ??80,000 square meters. Net profit in the fourth quarter of 2013 was US$25.4 million, an increase of 300% compared with the same period last year.
