Nanchong is a prefecture-level city. General prefecture-level cities have 15 bureau-level units. They are bureau-level and department-level units: municipal party Committee, municipal government, municipal people's congress, CPPCC, and military division; Bureau-level and deputy-level units: Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, Municipal Court, Municipal Procuratorate, Organization Department, Propaganda Department, Political and Legal Committee, Municipal Party Committee Office, Municipal Editorial Office, Customs, and local branches of the Central Bank.
