Shache county is a county under the jurisdiction of Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China (PRC). It is located in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, in the west of Tarim Basin, bordering Zepu and Yecheng in the south, Yingjisha County and Akto County in Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in the west, Mohammad County in the east, Yuepuhu County and Shule County in the northwest and Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County in the southwest, with an administrative area of 8,957 square kilometers.

Shache county is located at the northern foot of Kunlun Mountain, at the southern edge of Pamirs Plateau, in the middle and upper reaches of the Yarkant River alluvial fan plain between Taklimakan Desert and Bougouri Desert. The terrain inclines greatly from southwest to northeast, mainly in mountains and plains. It belongs to temperate continental arid climate with distinct seasons, dry climate and large temperature difference between day and night.
