I'll give you a personal ranking, which may not be accurate, but it can better represent the engineering strength of the school.

Tsinghua University II. Zhejiang University 3. Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Harbin Institute of Technology. Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Southeast University 7. Tianjin University. Beihang 10. Tongji University.

There are also some strong technical schools in the province: Beijing Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, South China University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and University of Electronic Science and Technology.

Universities with first-class comprehensive strength and not weak in science and engineering: Wuhan University, Peking University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University and Nanjing University.

Schools with strong military science and technology: National University of Defense Technology (the strongest computer), and so on.
