1. Turpan is a prefecture-level city under the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Located in the central and eastern Xinjiang and east of Tianshan Mountain, it is also called Huozhou. It is adjacent to Hami area in the east, and adjacent to the four counties of Hejing, Heshuo, Yuli and Ruoqiang in Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in the west and south, belonging to the official department-level organizational system.
