The function of the second grafting belt is to fix the grafting interface, because the early grafting interface is not firm, and the grafting belt can play a certain role in fixing the scion, which is beneficial to the grafting interface.

What grafting tape is the best for dressing Chinese rose?

Therefore, judging from the two functions of the grafting belt, anything that can close the interface can be used for grafting. So electrical tape can also be grafted.

The electrical tape is too thick and sticky, which is not good for the joint and belongs to foreign bodies. Therefore, fine grafting is not recommended.

In fact, the most affordable grafting tapes are plastic strips and plastic wrap. Many fruit trees are grafted with plastic wrap, and the whole roll of plastic wrap can be cut into small rolls of 2-3 cm for grafting.

Of course, in addition to these plastic grafting belts, there are also some imported high-end grafting belts. For example, there is a rubber grafting belt in Germany, which is similar to tofu skin and is very interesting. This kind of grafting belt is often used to graft Chinese rose in Austin, England.

There is also a polymer graft belt in Japan, which has excellent ductility and self-adhesion. Grafting buds can be directly wrapped after grafting, and the grafted buds can break through the grafting zone after germination. Moreover, it can be naturally degraded in the later stage, but the price is very high, which is hundreds of times that of ordinary grafting belts.

How long can the grafting belt of Chinese rose be removed?

About 25 days after grafting, if the callus is basically formed, the scion and rootstock heal well, and the petiole of the scion falls off naturally, it can be untied.

When unbinding, the grafting film should be uncovered, and the rootstock should be cut off about 2 cm above the grafted bud, and it can germinate in about 10 days.
