The Department of Business Administration was founded in 1983. In the same year, it began to recruit and train undergraduate students majoring in business administration. The business administration major currently has four majors: business administration, tourism management, real estate management (2003), and marketing (2005). In 2001, it was authorized to confer a master's degree in business management, and enrollment began in 2002. Currently, there are nearly 34 graduate students in the school. The master's degree program in business management currently has four research directions: management theory and business strategic management, human resource development and management, business operation management, and real estate and resource and environmental management. The Department of Business Administration has a long history of running schools, has accumulated rich experience in running schools, and formed a scientific and reasonable training model. There are currently 29 full-time teachers, including 4 professors, 16 associate professors, and 16 teachers who have doctorates or are studying for doctorates. Many teachers have studied abroad or been visiting scholars abroad. Currently, a team of young and middle-aged people has been built. Professors are the backbone of the teaching team, with high academic qualifications, new knowledge, reasonable age structure, high academic level, innovative spirit, and unity and cooperation.
The Department of Business Administration mainly cultivates practical or research-oriented senior management talents that are in line with international business administration education for various profit-making organizations and non-profit institutions. The Business Administration major has become the "cradle" for entrepreneurs and senior management elites in the business community. It has also cultivated and delivered a large number of outstanding talents for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs. At present, nearly 10,000 graduates of this major are active in Shenzhen and even across the country. They are generally well received by employers and have become the backbone of the business.
The Department of Business Administration has a close research cooperation relationship with the "China Special Economic Zone Research Center of Shenzhen University", a humanities and social science research base of the Ministry of Education. This year, it has undertaken more than 20 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, provincial and municipal levels , many other related research projects and enterprise commissioned projects. It has a commercial science laboratory and 11 off-campus teaching practice bases, and maintains good cooperative relations with domestic and foreign universities and academic institutions. This department provides strong support for the economic development, enterprise innovation and management talents of Shenzhen and even the Pearl River Delta region.
