Quwo County is located in the south-central part of Shanxi Province, bounded by Ta 'er Mountain (Chongshan Mountain), Qiaoshan Mountain, Dinglongshan and Xiangfen County in the north, adjacent to Tongjiang County in the south, bordering Yicheng County in the east, facing Xiangfen County across the Fenhe River in the northwest and adjacent to houma city in the southwest, belonging to Linfen City, Shanxi Province. The county covers a total area of 437.9 square kilometers, governs 5 towns and 2 townships, 1 14 administrative villages, and has a permanent population of 212289 (20021year) [1]. In April, 20021,it was selected as "Top 100 Cultural Counties in China" in 20021(the second session). [2]

The name of Quwo began in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. The Western Han Dynasty, also known as Jiangxian County, belongs to Hedong County. In 35 years, Jiang County was changed to County, which still belongs to Hedong County. In 487, Jiangyi County was changed to Quwo County, which belongs to Zhengping County, and the county name has not changed since then. During the Republic of China, Shanxi Province was directly under its jurisdiction. 197 1 year, houma city was divided, Quwo county was restored, and the county government was stationed in Chengguan. Since then, Quwo has not changed.
