Introduction of Wengyang Street

Wengyang Street is located in the east of Liushi Plain, Yueqing City, Wenzhou, and is one of the four major components of Liushi District. It is near Yueqing Bay, 9.9 kilometers north of Yueqing Municipal People's Government and 8.3 kilometers west of Liushi Town People's Government. It has a total area of 26.32 square kilometers (in 211) and a permanent population of 7,. Wengyang Street is located in the marine plain of Yueqing Bay, and the soil is soft clay coated with marine deposits, so it is called "Geyang", which was later refined into "Wengyang", which means large fields in Liushi dialect. Weng Yang's name was first seen in Yongle County Records of the Ming Dynasty. In ancient times, Wengyang was mainly engaged in salt production and was under the jurisdiction of Changlin site. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, a salt area was once set up to specialize in salt industry. After the reform and opening up, low-voltage electrical appliances in Liushi area sprang up suddenly, and the pillar industries gradually shifted from salt industry to emerging industries such as industrial electrical appliances. Wengyang, as one of the important towns in Liushi district, although its comprehensive strength is inferior to Liushi town and Beibaixiang town, it has been firmly in the fifth place in Yueqing city for many years.
