Kaiyuan No.1 Middle School, referred to as Kaiyuan No.1 Middle School for short, was founded in March of 19 17, and is a first-class complete middle school in Yunnan Province. The school is located at No.263, the middle section of Lingquan West Road, west of Kaiyuan City, covering an area of 2 17 mu, with a green area of 2,000 square meters and a teaching room area of 2 1742 square meters. There are 78 classes, more than 2,800 students and 600 full-time teachers, including 7 special teachers, 80 senior teachers and 60 first-class teachers.

The school library has more than 60,000 books, more than 300 boxes of audio-visual materials and more than 200 kinds of newspapers and periodicals. The school has facilities such as library science and education building, experimental building, art palace, swimming pool and gymnasium. There are two multimedia classrooms, one electronic reading room 1 room and four microcomputer rooms, with a total of 246 computers (386,618b).
