According to legend, Huan Yi, a famous musician in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, loved music and was good at playing the flute. One day, Wang Huizhi passed by here, parked in Qingxi, invited Iraq to play, played the "Three Tones" and left. The host and guests never said a word from beginning to end. It is said that this song is the later famous "Three Lane of Plum Blossoms".

Li Bai's famous sentence "We live near Changgan Lane, and we are all young and happy" created the story of "childhood friends" and was passed down as a much-told story. At the same time, Changganli is the earliest Buddhist center in Nanjing and the site of Jianchu Temple, the first temple in the south of the Yangtze River during the reign of Sun Wu.

According to legend, Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, was afraid of the rich man Yu Tonghai (because of the homonym "fish cross the sea and become a dragon"), so he gave Yu Tonghai an archway engraved with a hundred cats on his birthday according to Liu Bowen's geomantic map to show that cats eat "fish". Zhu Yuanzhang also planted willows all over the street, which means that willows string fish and dried fish to stop Yu Rui. Later, this street was named "Liu Ye Street".
