Brief introduction of Shanxi Song and Dance Theatre

Shanxi Song and Dance Theatre was founded in 1954, formerly known as Shanxi Song and Dance Troupe. Representative works in the early stage include large-scale musical Ya Gu Chun, opera Fire of Hope, symphony Five Brothers Grazing Sheep, Hukou Waterfall, folk music Golden Beach and so on. The theater has performed in many large and medium-sized cities in China for many times, and visited Japan, Austria and other countries as well as Hongkong and Taiwan Province Province, which was warmly welcomed by audiences at home and abroad. The theater has a strong creative and performing force, with more than 50 first-class titles and more than 70 second-class titles. Famous old artists include Ren Aiying, Wang Junqi, Li Bingheng and Hou Zhengping.
