The latest development of Fo-Qing expressway

From 2nd to 4th, the Provincial Communications Department organized experts to hold the review meeting of the feasibility study report of Fo (Shan) Qing (Yuan) Cong (Hua) Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Fo Qing Cong Expressway") in Foshan and Qingyuan respectively. After careful examination by experts and representatives attending the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that the Foqing Expressway project passed the feasibility report evaluation, marking the entry of the project into the substantive construction stage.

Fo-Qing-Cong Expressway is the "one horizontal line" in Qingyuan highway network planning (2006-2030). Considering the increasingly frequent economic exchanges between Qingyuan and the Pearl River Delta, Guangqing Expressway, as the only fast passage between Qingyuan and the eastern, central and western parts of the Pearl River Delta, cannot meet the needs of future economic development. Qingyuan Highway Network Planning and Guangzhou Highway Network Planning put forward the construction of Foshan-Qingyuan and Qingyuan-Conghua expressways respectively, and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan of Foshan Highway and Waterway Traffic also put forward the construction of Foshan-Qingyuan expressway.

With the consent of Guangzhou and Foshan, Qingyuan entrusted Wuhan Zhongzi Road and Bridge Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. to prepare the feasibility study report of the project. Based on the administrative regional lines of Foshan and Guangzhou, Foqing Expressway is divided into the southern section (namely the border section of Foshan) and the northern section (namely the border section of Guangzhou and Qingyuan). The recommended route for the northern section starts from Guandu (the city boundary) in Huadu, connects Foqing from the southern section of the expressway, passes through Guankeng, Baini and Guotai in Chini Town, then enters Qingcheng District in Qingyuan, and passes through Xingren and Min 'an in Shijiao Town. It passes through the south of Zhou Xin, the south of Yuantan, Liang Dong and Yangmeigen, enters Conghua, Guangzhou, passes through Shizui, Xinxiang and Shishujiao in Aotou Town, and finally passes through Jinggang in the southwest of Conghua City, connecting with the completed Jiebei Expressway and the planned Daguang Expressway (see the above picture). The total length of the line is 85.993 kilometers, including 43.92 kilometers in Qingyuan section and 42.07 kilometers in Guangzhou section. All the projects are planned to be two-way and six lanes, with a design speed of 1.20km/h and an estimated investment of about 8.449 billion yuan.

The construction of Foqing-Conghua Expressway will form a fast passage between Qingyuan, Foshan and Conghua, and shorten the time and space distance between Qingyuan, Foshan and the western Pearl River Delta. The project is of positive significance for promoting economic exchanges among Foshan, Conghua and Qingyuan, enhancing complementary advantages, accelerating the development and utilization of resources along the line, enhancing complementary advantages, promoting the upgrading of advantageous industries, promoting the rapid economic and social development along the line, promoting Qingyuan's early integration into Guangfo metropolitan area, and giving play to Qingyuan's function as a "guest room" in Guangfo-Qingyuan metropolitan area.
