Shihezi No.1 Middle School was founded in March 1954. Its predecessor was the Second Children's School of the 22nd Corps of China People's Liberation Army, the Second Girls' School of the Production and Construction Corps of Xinjiang Military Region and the Children's School of the Eighth Agricultural Division. 198 1 was identified as the first batch of provincial key middle schools by the autonomous region.
