Myth 1: Not thoroughly cleaned before disinfection.

There is a positive correlation between temperature and disinfection effect, so disinfection should be carried out in the period of high temperature in a day, and the humidity required by different disinfectants is also different.

Myth 5: ultraviolet disinfection is set at the entrance of personnel.

The correct way: someone uses ultraviolet disinfection in the entrance disinfection room, which will cause harm to human skin and mucosa for more than 15 minutes. At the same time, it should also be noted that ultraviolet disinfection is only surface disinfection, and it is impossible to disinfect the interior through the surface. There are also some pig farms that lack the necessary maintenance of ultraviolet facilities and equipment, which greatly weakens the disinfection effect.

Ultraviolet disinfection lasts at most 10- 15 minutes. Relevant personnel of the Animal Epidemic Prevention and Control Center said that if internal disinfection is needed, an ozone generator can be used in combination to disinfect feed, vegetables and food by using the permeability of ozone.

Myth 6: Expensive disinfectants are effective.

Correct practice: Disinfectants should be widely used, with long residual period and stable chemical characteristics, and must be able to kill viruses, including enveloped viruses and naked viruses. Disinfectants with wide adaptability to the environment should be used as much as possible in summer. In addition, there is no positive correlation between disinfection effect and disinfection concentration and drug price. Myth 7: Lime powder is directly sprinkled on the ground.

Correct way: Under normal circumstances, the disinfection effect is limited by directly sprinkling quicklime powder in the dry environment in the field. Now pig farms often cover the ground with lime powder and disinfect it for a long time. This will lead to a large number of lime dust flying, and its corrosiveness will increase the probability of pigs contracting respiratory diseases. But also damages the ecological environment and is not conducive to the growth of crops. In the long run, there will be resistance and the cost will be high.

Quicklime has certain irritation, so it is best used for disinfection in humid environment, such as disinfection of feces and urine on the ground of empty houses and accumulation of feces and dirt. In addition, when there is a large amount of quicklime powder on the ground, do not spray acidic disinfectants such as peracetic acid to prevent the chemical reaction of acid-base disinfectants, resulting in ineffective disinfection.

Myth 8: Ignoring the disinfection of the surrounding environment.

Correct practice: the disinfection effect of pig farm is related to the cleanliness of surrounding weeds and ditches. In addition, mice, flies, ticks, wild cats and wild dogs can also carry a variety of viruses.
