In the Southern Song Dynasty, Jiatai Huiji said: "Sheep and stone mountain, go to the county for thirty-six miles, and there are stones like sheep on the mountain, hence the name." Yangshan stone is a kind of pyroclastic rock, which contains iron, is wear-resistant and turbidity-resistant, has strong compression resistance, good economy and large water head. It can cut large stone and super-long stone strips, and is suitable for building city walls, seawalls, river banks, sluices, bridges and temple halls. It is the oldest and largest quarry in ancient Vietnam. Quarrying began in the Goujian period in the Spring and Autumn Period, 2500 years ago. During the Sui Dynasty (58 1-600), Su Yang, commander-in-chief of the navy, was ordered to cross the river to quell the powerful and intelligent rebellion in Yuezhou, and then he defended Yuezhou and was named Duke of Yue. Su Yang began to organize migrant workers to dig the stone of Yangshan on a large scale, and expanded Luocheng in Yuezhou on the basis of Licheng (Luocheng is an outer city, equivalent to the old ring city of Shaoxing today). In the Tang, Song, Ming and Qing dynasties, Yangshan stone was mainly used to build seawalls, dams, sluices, ponds, fiber roads, bridges and temple columns in the northern coastal plains of Yinshan and Huiji counties. Yangshan stone is a famous high-quality stone in Vietnam, which is widely used and has a large amount of exploitation. It has become the main industry of the residents in the surrounding villages, and the stones have been sold to Fiona Fang for hundreds of miles. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the whole Yangshan Mountain had become a stone mine site composed of countless residual stones, and the stone industry was terminated, which was called Shicheng in history. After the water overflowed the spring, the wind invaded the rain, so it became a scenic place. Yangshan is for the benefit of the people.

Due to endless excavation, the original mountain shape of Shi Yang has disappeared, and the so-called "Shiyang" no longer exists. At that time, the stone cutters did not consider the landscape, but only chose the hard, complete and generous ones and discarded the brittle, inclined and thin ones for the need of quarrying. After thousands of years of natural weathering, peeling, perforation and collapse, the residual water in this area has been outlined as a strange sight of "towering cliffs, towering solitary peaks, rippling blue waves in the pool and listing different rocks"

Strolling through Yangshan Shicheng, if I am the only one in the scenic spot and the wind comes slowly, I can only see dozens of peaks, hundreds of pools and thousands of walls. The stone scene is dazzling and amazing. Rock peaks are continuous and varied, such as Gaby Peak, Thumb Peak, Tortoise Peak, Jinping Peak, Tianzhu Peak and Guanyin Buddha. The mountain peaks are lifelike and fascinating. The stone steps under the peak are undulating and the path is winding; There are countless stone pools and ponds scattered on the wall. The pond is connected with the pool, and the springs are jingling and the water is gurgling. A mountain peak is dozens of feet high, and there are small trees on the peak, stretching like the dream flowers of Huangshan Mountain. Yangshan Tianchi, located in the southwest peak of Shicheng, is full of water all year round and bottomless. It never dries up without rain for a hundred days. It's amazing. There is also a spring under Tianchi Lake. The water is clear and tastes bitter. According to legend, Lv Chunyang, the Eight Immortals, came here to collect medicine and treat diseases. He drank this water and was called "pure Yangquan" by later generations. There is also a mountain peak in the southwest. Climbing the stairs, overlooking from a height, you can have a panoramic view of the distant mountains and near the water, which can be described as the "wonderful high platform" of Shicheng.

Yangshan Shicheng is known as a scenic spot in Vietnam. It can be seen from the cliff inscriptions and literature and history data that during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China, many literati and celebrities visited here to express their feelings and left many inscriptions and poems. During the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, the Huiji Juren and the imperial envoy Zong Jichang visited Yangshan Mountain, which left a deep impression on the landscape and waterscape of Yangshan Stone, so they left an article entitled "Inscription on the Mountain Wall of Yangshan Stone", which read: "This object was carved by the emperor and protected by Wu Su. Angry sheep are like dragons, and wind and thunder shake the ground. Eliminate evil in one corner and moisten the bridge in three springs. Bless the earth, and the spiritual realm is made in heaven. At present, the local town government is planning to gradually develop Yangshan Shicheng into a tourist and leisure resort with the characteristics of Jiangnan stone culture and water culture. Now, a stone Buddha has been carved on the lower cliff, which is called "Hundred Buddha City".

Yangshan stone Buddha and Shicheng are far apart, not far apart, and the stone Buddha is carved in a solitary rock. The craftsmen carved a cave on the top of the mountain first, and then left stones in the cave to carve it into a giant Buddha. The grotto is three feet high and surrounded by dozens of steps, and its space just accommodates the whole body of the stone Buddha. The stone Buddha is about twenty feet high, with his hands on his knees, round forehead, plump cheeks, kind face and vivid charm.

Yangshan enjoys a high reputation for its scenery.

People now call Shaoxing plain scenery "Jianhu scenery". Gu Jian Lake is a famous water conservancy project and the earliest and largest artificial lake in the history of southeast China. It was built by Ma Su, Governor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, in Yonghe, Shun Di in the fifth year (140). The completion of Gu Jian Lake marks a great leap forward in the development history of Shaoxing, which eventually created more than 9,000 hectares of fertile land for drought and flood, and laid a solid material foundation for Shaoxing to eventually develop into a land of plenty. At the same time, the completion of the ancient Jianhu Lake also brought unexpected benefits, that is, it greatly beautified the natural environment of Shaoxing and became a hot spot of ancient tourism with its unique landscape. Li Bai, Du Fu, Lu You, Bai Juyi, Yuan Zhen, He, Meng Haoran, Song, Xu Wei and so on. Have left a large number of well-known lake poems here. Today's "Jianhu" has been roughly formed since the Southern Song Dynasty, and Jianhu in a complete sense has long been a historical concept.

The development of Shaoxing's landscape has already surpassed the category of "scenery" and rose to the level of "landscape culture". In the long-term practice, according to the demand and strength at that time, people use and transform the landscape to achieve their own goals, thus becoming an organic part of human culture. They not only exist for a long time, but also are interrelated, restricted and infiltrated with each other, which constitutes a rich and colorful landscape cultural phenomenon.

When introducing the history of water conservancy in Shaoxing, Mr. Chen Qiaoyi said: "Shaoxing, a land of fish and rice interwoven with fertile fields, rivers and lakes, is actually the product of water conservancy in historical period."

Yangshan also belongs to the ancient Jianhu Lake and Jianhu Lake. I regard it as a microcosm of Shaoxing's landscape culture.
