Rabbits are cheap and can even be obtained at no cost. Moreover, rabbits can grow well and reproduce quickly by relying entirely on weeds. At the beginning of a year, rabbits will have a room full of grandchildren at the end of the year. The pregnant period of the mother rabbit is 30-3 1 day, and the young rabbit is 40-50 days after birth. If the weight exceeds 1 kg, the mother rabbit can give birth to 4 babies a year. What has affected the rabbit industry in rural areas?

First, lack of funds. Although rabbits breed quickly, it takes a certain amount of investment to build pens, buy breeding rabbits and other equipment and feed, and it is impossible to develop without funds. At the same time, raising rabbits is not a habit. It's ok to keep a few for fun. Few people have considered making a fortune by raising rabbits. If there is investment, the first consideration is to raise chickens, pigs, sheep or cattle, and rabbits will never consider it. Everyone doesn't want to make rabbit money.

Second, there is no habit of eating rabbit meat. People in China mainly eat pork, and few people eat rabbit meat. Although rabbit meat has high nutritional value, it contains protein 2 1.47%, protein content is higher than chicken, pork and beef, fat content is only 8%, cholesterol content is lower than chicken, pork and beef, and it is easy to digest. Generally, people in China eat more rabbits, and rabbits raised artificially are not welcome.

Third, the lack of sales channels: due to the good ecological environment restoration, the forest coverage rate has increased year by year, and there are more rabbits. The source of meat rabbits is mainly to catch rabbits, and the sales are mainly sold to pedestrians by main roads. There is no special sales market, consumers have no place to buy meat rabbits, farmers have no market sales, breeding is easy to sell, and rabbits are not bought.

Fourth, rabbits reproduce quickly and are easily saturated. For example, in the second half of 1984, the "rabbit-raising fever" emerged to breed West German rabbits. 1985, the super rabbit hair per kilogram rose from 54 yuan to 200 ~ 250 yuan, which led some farmers to take advantage of the hot market and buy rabbits at high prices, resulting in a sharp increase in the price of breeding rabbits. The price of a pair of purebred angora rabbits in West Germany is equivalent to a beef or a beef. In the future, rabbit hair was unsalable in the market, the supply was overstocked, and the capital turnover of the distribution department was ineffective, and the price was continuously reduced or even stopped selling. After 1986, the purchase price of rabbit hair dropped sharply, and the purchase price per kilogram of rabbit hair dropped to 34 ~ 40 yuan. Rabbit farmers suffered serious losses and their enthusiasm for raising rabbits was hit.

Fifth, there are not enough rabbit management techniques and many diseases, especially scabies, so there are few breeders. Most of its breeding varieties are local hybrid rabbits, which are small in size, hairy, thin in skin, low in economic value and poor in breeding efficiency. The most serious disease of rabbits is scabies. Once the rabbit farm was infected with scabies, the whole army was wiped out and the losses were very heavy. There is a domestic rabbit in our village. At that time, more than 8,000 rabbits were raised, and the market was already open. With special customers, the economic benefits are better. The prevention of scabies is neglected in breeding, and the management of the farm is not strict, so anyone can enter and leave, which leads to breeding. Followed by diarrhea, due to the lack of correct feeding and management techniques for rabbits, the most common disease of rabbits is diarrhea, and rabbits died of dehydration a few days later. There are many diseases and high mortality, so I dare not raise rabbits. If we can raise a few, no one will dare to invest in large-scale farming.
