You have to pass the civil service examination to become a notary?

You don't need to pass the civil service examination to become a notary. According to the provisions of the Notary Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), a notary must meet the following conditions:

(1) Having China nationality;

(two) the age of twenty-five to sixty-five;

(three) fair and upright, law-abiding, good conduct, with good professional ethics;

(4) Obtaining the legal professional qualification through the national judicial professional qualification examination;

(five) more than two years of internship in a notary office or more than three years of other legal professional experience and more than one year of internship in a notary office, and passed the examination.

The Notary Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) is a law formulated to standardize notarization activities, ensure notaries and notaries to perform their duties according to law, prevent disputes and protect the legitimate rights and interests of natural persons, legal persons or other organizations.

It was revised and adopted by the 17th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Tenth NPC on August 28th, 2005, and came into force on March 6th, 2006. The current version was revised at the 29th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC on September 1 2065.

Twelfth according to the application of natural persons, legal persons or other organizations, a notary public may handle the following matters:

(a) matters registered by a notary public as stipulated by laws and administrative regulations;

(2) escrow;

(3) Keeping wills, legacies or other property, articles and documents related to notarization;

(4) Writing legal documents related to notarization;

(5) Providing notarized legal opinions.

Thirteenth notary public institutions shall not have the following acts:

(a) to issue a notarial certificate for untrue and illegal matters;

(2) Destroying or tampering with notarized documents or notarized files;

(3) Defaming other notaries and notaries or soliciting notarization business by paying kickbacks, commissions and other improper means;

(4) divulging state secrets, business secrets or personal privacy known in practice;

(five) in violation of the provisions of the standard fees charged notary fees;

(six) other acts prohibited by laws, regulations and the provisions of the judicial administrative department of the State Council.
