Two college student employment survey reports
Two survey reports on the employment of college students
How to deal with the social phenomenon of difficulty in finding employment for college students. The following is an article I share with you about investigative reporting. Hope it helps everyone. Chapter 1
In response to the social phenomenon of difficulty in finding employment for college students, this survey covered 17 departments of nearby universities, including undergraduate students in normal and non-teaching majors. ***580 questionnaires were distributed, and the actual number was 547, with a recovery rate of xx%. The survey document uses three methods to answer questions: single-choice, indefinite-choice and subjective questions. The questions involve college students' employment expectations, self-evaluation of employment quality, college employment guidance, career selection and factors affecting employment, etc. It aims to conduct empirical research on issues related to college students' employment expectations and actual employment, and provide information for college employment guidance and talent training. Data and countermeasure research basis. The survey results show several issues:
1. Most students have a new understanding of "pragmatism", and their employment expectations tend to be realistic, mainly in terms of work units, work areas, etc.
(1) Employment direction: Employment first, then choosing a career becomes the first choice
The top three priorities of college students in terms of career orientation are: "Employ first, then choose a career", "Choose a career first" After employment?, and further studies?, they are xx%, xx%, xx% respectively. The survey shows that when faced with employment pressure, most students show unique confidence and maturity.
In the choice of this question, the phenomenon that deserves special attention is "continue further study". This option accounts for xx%. More than a quarter of students hope to continue studying, and this trend has lasted for a long time in recent years. And it gets worse and worse. The reasons are:
First, the influence of the knowledge economy era and the improvement of talent quality requirements;
Second, the competition for employment is fierce, and superior careers require excellent high-level talents;
p>
The third is psychological factors. Some college students avoid immediate employment and other factors in order to relieve employment pressure.
This phenomenon deserves careful analysis and study. What are its advantages and disadvantages? Its advantages lie in easing employment pressure, promoting the improvement of talent quality, improving my country's talent structure, and enhancing the scientific and technological strength and international competitiveness of my country's senior talents. . What is worrying is that it reflects the lack of psychological quality of college students and their insufficient ability to withstand social pressure. In the face of fierce social competition, a considerable number of college students have chosen to avoid it, and their career expectations tend to be "non-risky". This phenomenon can also be seen in students' evaluations of their employment prospects. 22.92% of the students have a "not optimistic" evaluation of their employment prospects. In addition to the influence of objective and practical factors, it is more about the psychological quality of students. It can be seen that it is necessary for colleges and universities to strengthen employment guidance and employment psychological counseling.
(2) Employment orientation: Economically developed areas are preferred for employment areas.
The survey results show that when students choose employment areas, 66.54% choose economically developed areas. This illustrates two problems: First, in addition to relatively considerable job benefits in economically developed areas, it is more convenient for economically developed areas to integrate with international standards and provide employees with opportunities for further study and improvement. This is related to students' self-development and The need for "self-actualization" is closely related. Second, the employment opportunities in economically developed areas are higher than those in other underdeveloped areas, and the employment positions are diversified. This is an important reason for attracting students.
(3) Career value: combine professional characteristics, be pragmatic and hard-working
As students of normal colleges, when choosing employment positions, they tend to go to schools or scientific research institutions ?, ?Administrative agencies or public institutions?. 2. Influencing factors.
(1) Most students consider "salary, welfare benefits" and "realization of self-worth" as their key considerations regarding career value standards. The proportions of the two items are xx% and xx% respectively.
This is consistent with the factors students consider when actually seeking employment, that is, salary and the reflection of personal value and ability are the key considerations. The survey shows that in addition to salary, students' employment is affected by personal factors in life values.
However, students consider more personal factors and less social needs when making life choices. Even when pursuing self-realization, it reflects that the main emphasis is on the needs of "self" rather than "society". The pros and cons of this phenomenon are worthy of our study and consideration.
(2) In the employment process, xx% of students believe that experience and practical ability are the most important factors. "Academic qualifications", "Graduation institution or major", and "Applying skills" accounted for xx%, xx%, and xx% respectively. This may be related to the employer's requirements during recruitment. 3. Students understand and clarify their own strengths and weaknesses.
(1) The advantages of most students are “theoretical foundation” and “teaching skills”.
(2) More than half of the students believe that their "practical ability" and "competition and risk awareness" are at a disadvantage, reaching 33.07% and 30.69% respectively; in the areas where students think they are most lacking In terms of quality, "innovation ability", "practical working ability", and "professional knowledge and skills" were included in the top three choices. The results are shown in Figure 7. The overall reason may be that on the one hand, knowledge is updated rapidly, knowledge is getting deeper and wider, and professional quality is becoming more and more comprehensive; on the other hand, school education lags behind and the knowledge structure of education is not reasonable, which makes college graduates People generally feel stressed and unfit when employed, and lack confidence in the knowledge and skills they have learned and mastered. On the other hand, the psychological quality of students to be brave in challenges has not yet been formed; in terms of cultivating innovative ability, much is said but little is done, and the scope of training is relatively narrow. The main reason is the lack of training environment. In addition to improving students' professional knowledge level, how to improve students' psychological quality to dare to challenge and how to cultivate students' innovative ability will also become two major topics for employment guidance in colleges and universities. 4. Guidance and students’ needs.
(1) More than half of the students reported that they were not very satisfied with the guidance on student employment.
(2) When students want the school to focus on providing guidance and assistance in college students’ career development,
Students have xx% options to provide more practical opportunities, and "Strengthening the cultivation of innovative abilities" and "focusing on social ability guidance" also play a certain role. Based on national policies and practical needs, students need to change from the employment concept to the entrepreneurial concept. In the survey, students believed that "cultivating the spirit of self-entrepreneurship" is the key to changing college students' employment concepts (accounting for xx%); and "strengthening college employment guidance" and "other factors" also accounted for a large weight. The current employment guidance work in colleges and universities is basically limited to service work such as information release, policy promotion, skills training, and agreement processing. The research suggests that the employment guidance system should cover the entire process of university education. At present, the employment guidance centers of most colleges and universities still mainly deal with graduating classes, but at this time most of them have the regret of not having enough books until they are used. Employment guidance work urgently needs to be radiated from graduating classes to lower-grade students and throughout the entire process of university education. Specifically, the employment success navigation system should cover professional knowledge and skills navigation, such as guidance on learning methods, introduction of new ideas and concepts, personal help in improving knowledge structure, etc.; healthy success navigation, through the implementation of pairing services, psychological guidance, exchanges and discussions, for college students Solve the psychological distress that may arise in the process of employment, knowledge seeking and personal growth; legal navigation, popularize legal knowledge, strengthen the awareness of the rule of law, and guide the awareness of integrity.
Judging from the problems reflected in the survey, it is worthwhile to further standardize the management of student employment guidance in our school, especially how to incorporate employment guidance into the overall work track of school teaching and education. A place for further research and improvement. Chapter 2
According to the survey of college students, we can know that in the past, people had the impression that most graduates tended to go to big cities and good units when seeking employment. However, in this survey, we chose A considerable number of students go to underdeveloped areas. On the one hand, this is related to the concept that some students would rather be a chicken head than a phoenix tail. It is also related to the current increasingly competitive employment reality. This shows that more students are able to combine their own reality and social reality to make a more appropriate positioning for their future.
From students’ expressions of reasons for their choices, we can see that the same choice may come from different motivations, and different choices may also come from the same motivation.
For example, for people who also choose jobs with relatively low remuneration, the motivation factor that ranks first in percentage is the pursuit of self-worth, accounting for 31.8% of the total number of people. Typical expressions are: can you have a sufficient job in a relatively poor unit? A stage to show your talents, make yourself useful, and realize the value of life. You can contribute to backward areas and realize your own value. Instead of living an ordinary life in a comfortable environment, it is better to do something big in a difficult environment. .
The motivations of people who also choose to go to developed areas as ordinary people are also diverse, and some motivations are to achieve the same goal as students who choose to go to underdeveloped areas. For example, the top percentage of people is for development, accounting for 37.6% of the total number of people. Typical expressions are:? A good environment can provide better space for learning and development? People will follow the opponent's Strong and constantly getting stronger?, ?Only when a person puts himself in a place where there are many masters, can he continuously improve himself?, ?Only when facing strong opponents can he arouse the passion for progress?, ?There are more development opportunities in big cities, etc. .
Such people are willing to challenge themselves, accounting for xx%. Typical expressions are: "I like a challenging life", "Huge pressure and fierce competition will make life more colorful" "Gold will always shine if you temper yourself in a highly competitive place." "The environment in a big city will increase people's pressure and motivation and help to unleash people's creativity."
Based on my understanding of the employment issues of college students, let me talk about a few points: Problems
The employment issues of college students are first of all social issues, and secondly individual issues;
< p>We who are not yet employed are under great financial and psychological pressure, and even personality pressure. What they want most is opportunities, care and guidance. If our college students have conceptual or ability problems, as teachers, we must first reflect on our work. I think parents should also face the problem in this way, rather than blaming or lecturing them afterwards.If our schools could make us better understand how difficult it is to face social reality, how difficult it is to assume civic responsibilities and bear pressure independently, how difficult it is to maintain ideals in reality, and how to act in accordance with the law It is not easy to protect their own rights, and they understand the principle of living first and then developing. They may not wait, but are already working, and maintain the desire to actively pursue even in an unsatisfactory job. Because we know that the development of life is much more important than specific work, and independent survival is the basis of development; although we do not have a job yet, our inner support is still strong, and we will look for more suitable jobs to the extent that we can control ourselves. Because we know that success is naturally gratifying, and being able to withstand pressure is even more important. It is gratifying to have a satisfactory job, but there is a risk of loss after work. People must have the ability to withstand stress; we may not blame our parents or society, because we know that parents are the most selfless, and the path of life should be Develop your own life, no one can arrange your life for yourself, even if you can, it is superficial. Real happiness does not depend on others.
As far as employment is concerned, the school can certainly make some more realistic adjustments, including scale, structure, characteristics, teachers and teaching methods. Frankly speaking, the difficulty in finding employment for college students is also a pressure on the university. Therefore, every university must have a sense of urgency and improve its ability to self-regulate and promote development.
But the most important thing is, what professional skills should education give students? But what should we do if the needs of the professional world have changed? The needs of the professional world will always change faster than what the school can cultivate. What skills should be given to students? What is the most important thing to a person? It is an essential and eternal thing, something that is necessary regardless of success or failure. That is life and conscience of personality, followed by the skills to make a living. ?
Faced with the employment problem of college students, as a student, I can neither create employment opportunities nor come up with any good medicine, and the suggestions I make may not be feasible. But I hope that everyone will put people first and take care of us college students. I also hope that we unemployed college students will cherish their souls and not let them be contaminated and hurt.
