Sichuan Provincial Library is located in Qingyang District, Chengdu City. It is the earliest public library in China. One of the first-level libraries in Sichuan Province, it is the Sichuan Provincial General Library and the Sichuan Provincial Branch Center of the National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project.

The predecessor of the Sichuan Provincial Library was the Sichuan Provincial Library established in 1912. In 1927, it was renamed the Chengdu Municipal Library. It was renamed Western Sichuan People's Library in 1942 and Sichuan Provincial Library in 1952. It was opened for operation in December 2015.

As of December 2017, the Sichuan Provincial Library has more than 5 million books, including 650,000 ancient books, 220,000 Republic of China documents, and 150TB of digital resources; the Sichuan Provincial Library has a building area of ??52,000 square meters m, the library has 21 departments and a total of 220 employees.

Sichuan Provincial Library borrowing rules:

1. To borrow books, you must present your registered ID card or Sichuan Provincial Library Library card.

2. Each card is limited to borrowing 5 Chinese books, and the borrowing period is 30 days. Borrowed books can only be renewed once if no one has made a reservation, and the renewal period is 30 days.

3. When going through the loan procedures, you should carefully check whether there are any dropped pages, paintings, defacements, etc. If you find any, you should declare it immediately and ask the staff to stamp it.

4. If a book is returned overdue, an overdue usage fee of 0.2 yuan per book will be charged per day, with a maximum limit of 30 yuan per book. Readers with an overdue fee of more than 5 yuan cannot continue to borrow books. Readers need to return overdue books and pay the overdue fee before they can continue to borrow books.

5. If the borrowed books are damaged, lost, or the books or CDs are taken out of the area without permission, they will be dealt with in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Measures for Handling Violations of Readers in Sichuan Provincial Libraries".
