The Historical Evolution of Laitan Town

Gande was founded in the Song Dynasty and belonged to Zhao Shi County, Hezhou for three years (965). In the sixth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1728), Laitan was evacuated from town and changed to farmland; In the thirty-second year of Guangxu (1906), Longzhai Town was established in Hezhou to administer Longsheng Town, Laitanchang, Matouxi, Xiaojiachang and Sunjiachang. Laitan Town Government is stationed in Laitan.

In 2006, Liwan Village and Liang Heng Village of Laitan Town were included in Xiaomian Town. After the adjustment, Laitan Town covers an area of 70.99 square kilometers and governs 19 village committees and 3 neighborhood committees.
