There is a subway in Kunming in the province.

Kunming, Yunnan, built a subway system and put it into operation, becoming the first city in the province to have a subway. Kunming Metro is managed by Kunming Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. and has been in operation since 20 12. At present, many lines have been opened, such as 1 and Line 2, and subsequent lines 3, 4 and 5 are under construction or have been put into use. There are still many lines, such as some sections and extensions of Line 6 to Line 9, which are under preliminary planning or accelerated construction.
